                                The NRW Migratory Fish Scheme has already seen many years of collaboration between universities and professional institutions both within Germany and abroad. For instance, there is a collaborative network involving various universities and their specialist departments (including Cologne, Münster and Essen). In addition to this, there have been effective cooperative partnerships with water-related institutions in the Netherlands and with various European research institutes (e.g. in Ireland, Denmark and France) .<br />
