The lifecycle of the sea lamprey (petromyzon marinus) is similar to that of the river lamprey, but this species is considerably larger, being capable of reaching a length of 1 metre. Its spawning grounds are located in extended stretches of our rivers (generally in the barbel region). The sea lamprey too is quite frequently found in our waters today.
